This is how our voluntary language mediation service works:

  1. Requesting an appointment is possible at any time, but success is more likely if the request is made at least 5 working days in advance. 
  2. Our service is voluntary, we cannot guarantee a language mediator.
  3. Status notifications of your request will come from no-reply@hiflt-dolmetschen.de. Please also check your spam folder.
  4. We only accept requests within the Leipzig city area.
  5. Language mediation is offered by SprInt in all Leipzig offices, daycare centers, after-school care centers, schools, the Jobcenter LE, and the Employment Agency. Ask at the respective institution if language mediation is required.
  6. Click on “Next” to complete the form and submit your request.

Please be aware that daycare centers, after-school care centers, and schools are themselves responsible for providing interpreters for the specified type of appointment.

Daycare centers and after-school care centers can request language mediators via the Office for Youth, Family and Education. Schools and after-school care centers also have the option of submitting their request to the State Office for Schools and Education.

Download the document below and complete the fields marked in red. Then send it to the e-mail address of the responsible organization or contact person where your appointment will take place. Alternatively, you can print out the document and hand it in personally at the daycare center, after-school care center or school.

Please also use the following document in the future for similar appointments in daycare centers, after-school care centers or schools. Avoid using this form if the daycare centers, after-school care centers or schools are responsible for providing the translation themselves.

In accordance with § 19 SGB X, the Jobcenter only offers language support for certain groups of people, such as EU nationals, third-country nationals with legal residency in the EU, and cross-border commuters.

EU nationals:
These are people who are nationals of a country in the European Union (EU). They can live, work and travel in all EU countries.

Third-country nationals with legal residency in the EU:
These are people who come from a country that is not part of the EU but have permission to live and work in an EU country.

Cross-border commuters:
These are people who live in one country but work in another. They regularly commute across the border between the two countries.

Please check whether you are eligible for interpreting services. Interpreters are provided if legally-compliant advice is not possible without language support.

If you are not eligible for these services, we will be happy to provide you with voluntary support.

If you have received an invitation from the Jobcenter, please report your need for interpreting services by e-mail. Download the document below and complete the fields marked in red. The e-mail address of the responsible team or contact person and your BG- or customer number can be found at the top right of your invitation letter.

If you are not entitled to these services, we will be happy to provide you with voluntary support. If you belong to an eligible group, please inform the Jobcenter that you will need an interpreter for future appointments.

Download the application for the provision of an interpreter from the following link. Open the word document on your computer and fill in the areas marked in red. Then print out the document, sign it, and hand it in to the Jobcenter on the day of your appointment.

The Employment Agency offers professional interpreting services for appointments. These are available in many languages and are organized directly by the agency.

What you should know:

  • The Employment Agency does not provide interpreting services without a pre-arranged appointment.
  • For scheduled interviews, the agency will organize the necessary language mediation.

Please note: Our services in the Employment Agency department are only available in exceptional cases, if it is not possible to arrange an appointment directly with the Employment Agency for important reasons.

Please ensure that an appointment is scheduled directly with the Employment Agency before requesting our support.

There are certain counseling centers in Leipzig that are responsible for providing translations for counseling appointments and therefore do not require our language mediators. 

We ask you to check whether your appointment takes place at such a counseling center.

If this is the case, please select the appropriate location from the list and continue filling out the form. Your request will then be forwarded directly to the relevant organization.
